The characteristic that first catches ones eye (or ear) when listening to mersault are the minimal, crackling and buzzing textures created by the musicians and the seamless interaction between the accoustic instruments of christian weber (bass), christian wolfarth (drums) and the electronics of tomas korber (guitar, electronics). however, mersault is more than just about the mere beauty of "sounds". the three musicians focus as much on the arrangement, the form and structure of the material as on the material itself. this "modus operandi" leads to a melting of the barriers between improvisation and composition, an alleged confusion that in the end might be the principal trademark of this trio.
